Marie-Louise Bowering

DIRECTOR

Marie-Louise Bowering is an Indigenous Community Connections Consultant/Coach. She is born and raised in the Niagara Region and her ancestors are Mohawks of Kahnawake, Irish, Scottish of Cape Britian and Welsh. She is a daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, Cousin, Sister and friend. Marie-Louise is an intergenerational survivor of Indian Residential schools as her Ancestors attended for decades. Her role in the community is to advocate and support Indigenous community and work with Truth and ReconciliACTION.
Marie-Louise has spent the past two decades connecting Traditional Knowledge keepers by engaging in cultural teachings and ceremonies. The Niagara Native Community has allowed her to explore various teachings and finding her roles and responsibilities. She is one of the lead organisers of the Indigenous Community Love Garden and played an instrumental role in the tear dropped shape cairn which has been built and erected at Willowbank, to honour and remember the missing and murdered indigenous women, children and peoples.
