Mallory Wilson
DIRECTOR

Mallory is an experienced cultural sector professional with nationally recognized expertise in bringing pioneering projects to life. She excels at asking the right questions and guiding people in bold new directions. She is the founder of Studio Murmur, a Montréal-based strategic consulting firm.
Originally drawn to building and making, Mallory studied classics, finance, and heritage preservation; an uncommon combination that sharpened her research skills, deepened her understanding of markets and financial psychology, and instilled a long-term approach to resource stewardship. She now uses this lens to help clients achieve sustainable, values-driven growth.
Before founding Studio Murmur, Mallory worked as a portfolio advisor in Montréal’s financial sector. She later completed a Master’s in Conservation focused on temporary use and went on to co-found several influential initiatives in urban innovation and heritage, including the Festival Vivre le Patrimoine (2015–2016), Entremise (2016), and the Young Project (2017–2018), Montréal’s first large-scale pilot for temporary use in partnership with the City of Montréal, enabling over 35 organizations to activate a public warehouse. In 2018, she became the first emerging professional to receive the prestigious Jacques Dalibard Award from ICOMOS Canada.
Motivation
I am drawn to Willowbank’s unique approach to heritage that bridges conservation and community. My work has always focused on activating spaces and resources in ways that are both sustainable and inclusive, and Willowbank embodies that same spirit of stewardship and innovation.
Vision
I hope to contribute by bringing a strategic and interdisciplinary lens to Willowbank’s growth—supporting its role as a leader in education of theory and craft along with community engagement. I’m particularly interested in strengthening connections between heritage, social impact, and new models of finance and development.
Advice
Stay curious and open to unexpected paths. The most meaningful work often happens at the intersection of disciplines, where you can bring your full perspective to complex challenges. Willowbank offers a rare opportunity to learn not just how to preserve the past, but how to shape the future.
