Conor MacNeill

DIRECTOR

Conor is an Irish born, Canadian animator, illustrator, and designer. He is an enthusiast of all things that involve story, drawing and model making. He began his career in the Industrial Design and Architectural Pre-vis fields, working for clients such as Sony, the Smithsonian and the NYS museum.
He has also enjoyed a career in the animation industry, filling a wide range of production roles, and working for clients such as Disney, PBS kids and Fisher Price.
More recently Conor has focused his career in academia, a journey that begun here at Willowbank where he served as one of our early instructors, teaching design and architectural detailing. Since then, he has moved on to Niagara College to teach 3D animation in the Multimedia program and illustration in the Graphic Design program. He has been involved in both the Niagara College Game Development program, and the Joint Brock/Niagara College BA and BSc programs since their inception, serving as a professor and curriculum developer.

Growing up in Niagara-on-the-lake, Conor has always been passionate about local history, stories and the arts, and is an active member of the arts community both locally and across Canada, serving as a technical chair on both the Skills Ontario competition and the National Skills Canada competition for the 3D Digital Game Arts.

Conor has also exhibited a painting series at the Niagara Pumphouse Art Gallery on Canadian Myths & Legends, and has written and illustrated a children's book, Benny the Whale goes to Niagara Falls.
