The Heritage Conservation Program reaches beyond four walls!
The School of Restoration Arts is located at Willowbank Estate, a National Historic Site, located in the village of Queenston, ON. Lectures are held at the mansion in Reif Hall or the Bright Salon while craft skills are held either on the estate proper, or in the Bluma and Bram Appel Barn located on the 12.5 acre picturesque landscape. The Bluma and Bram Appel Barn is an example of adaptive reuse, using a salvaged historic structure moved from an historic estate in Niagara-on-the-Lake to the site.
Willowbank works with private and publically owned historic places to deliver its holistic approached curriculum. To point out a few most recent collaborations, St. Mark's Anglican Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls Museum, Roselawn City of Port Colbourne, and the Alward Cenotaph City of Peterbourgh.
