Third Year Curriculum

The third year curriculum is structured separately for each individual student. There are ongoing opportunities for involvement in the six primary areas, and students either individually or in teams are required to design or implement an independent heritage conservation project, known as the Research Project.

The Research Projects are documented as part of the ongoing evaluation. They become part of the student record of their Willowbank experience. They can include training abroad, internship or mentoring opportunities and also theory or hands-on projects. The project will be specifically designed for the individual student to match their interest and skills and be related to the general subject areas:
  • Research and Analysis
  • Documentation
  • Conservation Planning
  • Craftsmanship: Wood
  • Craftsmanship: Masonry
  • Craftsmanship: Finishes and Fittings
Graduates of the Three-Year Program receive a Diploma in Heritage Conservation.
