Harvest Moon Ball
The Harvest Moon Ball is another long-standing tradition at Willowbank. It occurs every second year, and the next Ball is scheduled for the fall of 2011.
For this black-tie event, the landscape of Willowbank is transformed into a magical setting of hanging lanterns, special landscape features and fountains, a big band, a dance floor, and a luxurious spread of food and wine, all under the light of a full moon. One of Hannah Jarvis Hamilton’s letters in the mid-19th Century talks of her brother’s horse and carriage coming all the way from Hamilton to take her daughters to a ball. This is the tradition which the Harvest Moon celebrates and continues – the possibility of romance and delight in the gardens and house of a very special estate.
